The Ford Idaho Amphitheater is part of the Ford Idaho Center, which is made up of four different venues. These venues come together to create a large entertainment and sports complex. The center is around 15 miles away from Boise, Idaho’s capital city. It is located at 16200 Idaho Center Blvd. in Nampa, Idaho. 

Different venues

Along with the amphitheater, the Ford Idaho Center also houses the following venues:

  • » Ford Arena, formerly called the “Idaho Center Arena.”
  • » Ford Idaho Horse Park, formerly called the “Idaho Center Horse Park.”
  • » Ford Sports Park.

The Ford Arena is renowned for hosting the Snake River Stampede rodeo every year. This is one of the top rodeos in the nation, and it is held every July. The arena is also used for a range of different events, such as sports events and trade shows. 

As the name suggests, the Ford Idaho Horse Park is well-known as a horse facility. It is the leading facility in the Northwest and has grown significantly since opening in 2002. The park has over 110 acres, which can house around 850 horses. It is a premier venue for horse shows and has hosted Arabian championships and the Gem State NRCHA show.

The Ford Sports Center is best known for housing indoor track and field events, thanks to its 200-meter indoor track. The area also hosts home meets for the Broncos track teams from Boise State University.

So, what about the amphitheater?

Now that we have a thorough understanding of the Ford Idaho Center as a whole, let’s get back to the main event: the Ford Idaho Amphitheater!

The amphitheater opened back in 1998 with a concert by Shania Twain in the midst of her Come On Over Tour. Twain’s first concert set the tone for many more established musical stars who would go on to hold concerts there. 

Some of the performers who have taken to the stage include Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam, Tim McGraw, Korn, James Taylor, Jack Johnson, and Meghan Trainor. 

In 2023, the amphitheater went through a series of changes to meet the constantly evolving needs of the audience and the performers. The changes included a new concert floor, revamped hospitality and food options, online merchandise, and pre-parties at select shows. 

The amphitheater continues to be celebrated for bringing high-class entertainment to Nampa and for being an integral part of the Ford Idaho Center complex.
